The new exterior and interior style recently announced for the
latest MG ZR, the UK’s most popular hot-hatch, include several key features; distinctive new exterior style, featuring clear lens covered twin headlamps, a new high quality fascia design, incorporating four styled circular air vents and improved dynamic driving experience and value for money specification.
The new front bumper design is accompanied by a new clear lens covered twin halogen headlamps that give a cleaner and more sculpted exterior form. Substantial changes are made to the rear with a new boot and bumper style, complemented by new alloy wheels and centre-line badging. On the inside, a new fascia design houses four circular air vents and a new centre console.
The exterior style changes to the new MG ZR include a new front bumper design, a deeper integral SV look front grille and a tough clear lens protecting twin halogen headlamps in a black surround, that combine to give the ZR a fresh and sports focussed, modern appearance.
At the rear, the treatment is just as effective, with a new, more angular rear bumper, housing the re-positioned number plate and a clean-panel rear tailgate, with centrally mounted MG brand and ZR model identity badging. This gives a more defined rear appearance, with its standard-fit spoiler for a refreshed design style. Other exterior changes include the tailgate lift handle now incorporated into the rear wiper assembly design and body coloured side rubbing strips with ZR model identity badging. A blacked out lower feature and stainless steel exhaust heat shield creates an authentic effect, with 160 models also featuring rear bumper extensions on the corners by the rear wheel arch.
Inside, the high quality and stylish cabin features a new fascia design, centre console, soft touch switchgear and an array of technology features. The new fascia houses four circular styled air vents that give definition and feature to the centre and ends of the fascia, each with a satin chrome finish.
The exciting new-look MG ZS has a bold new exterior appearance, complemented by a new and attractive bodykit, standard equipment on the 180 derivatives and new fascia
design, with circular air vents and new features. The new ZS perpetuates the strong MG family resemblance initiated by the XPower SV sports car and the latest ZT saloon. Its style reflects the car’s supremely dynamic nature, merging bold, distinctive lines, with a purposeful stance to create a truly attractive sports saloon.
The new front bumper features a striking splitter feature, housing all-new twin lens halogen headlamps. The new ZS 180 body kit includes fender vents, wheel arch and sill extensions to accommodate the increased wider stance through the new wider 17” multi-spoke alloy wheels. At the rear, the ZS has a new appearance, with a new, more angular rear bumper and rear boot / tailgate treatment with a lower re-positioned number plate position. This lowers the eye-line to give the car a more defined rear, with the addition of a rear lip spoiler.
New 17” 11-spoke alloy wheels are specified on the new ZS 180, with a larger 7.5J rating, effectively improving steering response and further enhancing the already superb chassis handling characteristics. These will be standard on the ZS 180, and as an option on the rest of the range when specified as a package with the optional body kit.
The incorporation of a new fascia design transforms the interior of latest MG ZS, and includes satin chrome circular vent treatments that add more definition and a more attractive appearance. A new Technical Grey insert finisher completes the cabin’s sporting character.
A key new comfort specification feature introduced on MG ZS is Automatic Temperature Control (ATC) air conditioning. This luxury feature allows the precise desired temperature of the air conditioning to be set, in Fahrenheit or centigrade, with an external temperature display and solar sensor compensation. The new control panel is fully integrated in the console. This feature is standard on ZS 180, and available as an option on ZS+ models. Another new feature is Speed locking, where doors automatically lock when vehicle speed is greater than 3mph/5Kph. The doors remain locked when the vehicle is stationary and will automatically unlock again when the ignition is turned off.
The revised and more stylish new MG ZT range, for dedicated sports enthusiasts, was introduced earlier in the year. Encompassing a choice of modern saloon and estate cars, with in-line 4-cylinder, V6 and V8 engines, new alloy wheel designs, instrumentation, seat fabrics and traffic management systems combine to increase specification, excitement and value of the latest ZT range.
Key visual changes focus naturally on the modernised MG character. The aerodynamic front bumper integrates a new MG radiator grille and new halogen projector headlamps generate a prominent identity. A clean surfaced new rear bumper extends the modern theme, with centrally placed model badging above.
The new ZT design captures a fresh spirit of style, perpetuating a lineage that can be traced from legendary MGs to the latest MG XPower SV super coupe. The stylish, integrated and more prominent MG grille is clearly DNA linked and set between standard fit, new halogen projector headlamps. Driving lamps and directional indicator repeater lamps are positioned low within the front bumper, which carries a profiled aero lip spoiler along its lower edge.
MG ZT models carry a distinct interior environment, combining body-hugging sports seats and a clear fascia layout, now using a special Technical Grey finish. Black Oak treatment on the fascia and console is a new option, complemented by a Black Oak wood steering wheel. Burr Walnut can also be specified. New instrument graphics are now backlit illuminated in blue.
A leather and alloy gearknob, centre armrest with central storage, pollen filter and air conditioning are standard, with TrafficMaster Traffic Alert and TrafficMaster Smartnav navigation a UK model option.
