Which Plasma Television?
There are three things to consider when thinking of buying a Plasma television:
If you are looking for a TV greater than 76cm (30") then considering a plasma television is the correct decision. LCD (liquid crystal display) televisions are ideal for the smaller format as they are more affordable. Plasma televisions greater than 81cm (32") are more economical to manufacture than LCD ones.
Picture quality is usually better the more pixels there are to give a sharperpicture due to more detail.
Contrast ratio measures the difference in brightness levels between the brightest white and the darkest black. The bigger the ratio the better the quality of picture as more colours are available to support superior grayscaling.
The brighter the plasma screen, measured in candelas per meter squared (cd/m2), the better the picture when viewed in brightly lit areas
The only way to determine the best picture quality for your budget is compare different models as each of these variables vary considerably between models - even the angle that you view the screen can affect your vision of the picture quality.
